Default 1991 s10 blazer-no power to fuel pump

Have battery voltage for 2 or 3 seconds at grey wire coming out of fuel pump relay. Had friend turn switch while I checked grey wire, to ground, at connector to fuel pump. No power there when switched on. Had 8.5 volts on sending unit, though. Any suggestions? How is wire routed from rear to front of vehicle? Thanks in advance for any help.

I bet its the relay. its located on the firewall above the brake booster. there will be 2 there,a ac relay and fuel relay. its the one on the left.

try this, swap the relays, they are both the same. see if u have power then. if you do,and your ac doesnt work, you found the reason why. they are like 12 bucks at advance auto.

Have already switched the relays. No help. I do have 2 or 3 seconds of battery voltage at grey wire coming out of the relay that goes to the fuel pump. Just not getting voltage back to the fuel pump. Seems that if the relay were bad there would not any voltage at all. I think that there is a broken wire or bad connection after wires leave engine compartment. Began tracing wires from back of vehicle and see that the fuel pump power wire is routed under the carpet with a metal strip over it. Does anyone know how these wires are routed through out vehicle?

Followed the grey wire coming out of the fuel pump relay and going into the wiring harness that has the split plastic cover. Kept opening up the plastic cover, exposing more wires, and following the grey wire. Found a factory splice, covered by tape, that had 2 additional grey wires. This is where the corrision was. Had to open up about a foot of the cover to find the splice.
Now the engine is skipping pretty bad. Going to change plugs, dist.cap, rotor button and maybe wires maybe Wednesday. Will also be checking all vacuum lines. Will post finding.

Excellent! So future readers... check wires starting at FP relay.

BTW.. Suggest AC DELCO Plugs rotor cap. ACDelco wires OR hi-Po premium wires.
No store brand.
