Default 1991 s10 blazer rear defroster problem , help please

hello,
i have a question .
the rear defroster of my blazer doesn't work.
this because 1 upper connect pin on the lift support shock is broken.
is there a way to fix this?

how does the lift support with 2 wire connections work? is this a pass trough connection or so?
is it possible to connect the wire that is coming out the car on top (at the rear window) with the wire of the glasswires?

thx

vincent

Be patient, there will be someone who answers.

I have a 2nd gen so not sure. They have rear defeost repair kits that you can find online. A wiring diagram might help reconnect any loose hanging wires. I find any i look for on google images.

my question is if there is a way ti fix this without replace the strut.
if i extend the upper wire and connect this with the wire on the glass or something like that

the 2 connectors on the strut , what are they ? ground?? or are they just a way to connect the upper wire with the wire on the glass so there is no cable hanging on the side when the trunk (glass) is open?

i ask this because the shippingcosts are on the high side from the states to belgium

The shock struts on the 1st gen act as the grounding. I had to do the same repair on mine and simply used a wire to a ground. Make sure the wire is of the correct gauge as it is a heating element which draws considerable current.
