Default 1993 blazer 4.3v vortec

Just bought a 93 blazer w/ the 4.3v6. The vehicle has been sittin for awhile. There are 178,000 miles on motor and original transmission. The only problem i noticed was hesitation on the upper end when triin to pass or accel quickly. Not sure where exactly to start and lookin for advice.

which 4.3 does your blazer have? There are two types. The VIN code "W" and the "Z". The W is the CPI, and the Z is the TBI. I'm sure about the W because I have one. Not too sure about the Z. Anyway, change your fuel filter, and get a fuel pressure guage to test the system pressure. I don't want to give you any bad info so I'm hoping one of the more experienced members can pick up where I am leaving off.

Oh, and if the truck was sitting for a while it might have bad gasoline or even water in the tank.

start simple check plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. when they sit they go bad. i had a caprice sat like 3 years or so and it would idle and ease into throttle amazing but the minute u get on it, pop threw tbi. so i always check the simple stuff first when they sit, and normally you will find its nothing.
good luck

Not real sure if the the motor is tbi or cpi. Wut is a difference, and a quick way to check and see? I went to get plugs, wires, etc. and when stop at stop sign at top of my road it cut off and does not want to stay cranked. so....... im wonderin if this system has an inline filter and where it might be located. im am not a mechanic but also not an idiot so yes i know i need a chiltons manual. well thanx for all the help.
next time

they easiest way to tell is if it has a carb looking peice with air cleaner on top or does it say vortec on top with tube running out front of motor. those do have inline filters there located on drivers side frame rail in middle of vehicle.
