Default 4.3 headers.... worthwhile in a daily driver?

Hey everybody, I think my 94 S15 Jimmy could use a full exhaust system overhaul. I don't like the half-assed catback I put in a couple years back and I can swear there's an exhaust leak somewhere under the hood. Plus my y-pipe has its share of dents from off-roading lol. Should I go for headers while I'm at it?

Or should I just save a bunch of money and go with the factory style manifolds?

I heard that headers can make a car a bit louder, possibly even make it uncomfortable for a daily driver. Right now I'm running an all stock exhaust system except for a Cherry Bomb Turbo muffler. In terms of noise, I don't want it getting much louder than that.

But I also heard that they free up a decent amount of power and reduce fuel consumption (big plus for me) because of the better exhaust flow. Sometimes I can feel the 4.3 Vortec struggling with a bunch of cargo and 3-4 passengers so maybe some more power couldn't hurt.

Any thoughts? Anybody else have these, or similar headers on their 4.3 truck?

Thanks guys!

Guess it all comes down to if your willing to spend the money and if don't mind the possible louder sound.

Buy some used headers . That should be super cheap . Slap 'em on , and see what ya think . Dont buy new , unless you know you will like the results . Even then , buy used . I would buy some if I gave A &^% , but I dont . '

And if you get them it'll free up some H.P. And also fuel consumption will mainly depend on your right foot.
