Default 84 S10 Blazer idles slow on start up

First off, I do not know a whole hell of a lot about repairing vehicles. When I start my Blazer it idles pretty rough and dies if I do not keep my foot on the gas. Usually once it warms up, it wont die, but still idles so low when I stop at a red light, that it is sooo close to dieing on me. Any ideas? Can I adjust the idle, so that it doesnt idle so low?

thanks for any replies.

I had to decide whether to reply or not, since you seem to have decided that nobody here knows any answers.
Basic question - when was the last time the engine was tuned up (plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, distributor cap & rotor, etc)? Do you own a Haynes or Chilton repair manual for the vehicle?
Which engine do you have, the 2.8L V6?

Sounds like it is time to rebuild the carb.
