When i bought this truck the temp gauge didnt work so i replaced the sending unit on the right side of engine.

It had a leak as well so replaced the thermostat and fixed the leak there.

I also had to replace the radiator.

i then needed a new rad cap as the old one did not hold the pressure on the new radiator.

Now all seems fixed except the temp is at the 210 mark.

So Im wondering what the normal operating temp should be for this truck.

the normal should be a little below the halfway mark.. It can fluctuate around that area.

 

Normally, 190-200 degrees. It uses a 195* thermostat. Factory gauges are not all that precise, so I would not worry if it reads 210.

 

Mine reads right at 210 in my '94 vin W, and I'm sure thats about where it should be.

 

Typical fluid temperatures for a 195*F thermostat are in the 200-210*F range. Sounds perfectly normal to me.

yesterday in town stop and go it rose to the 240 or so. i'll keep an eye on it.

Yeah, 240 is high.

Have you cleaned the finned area of the radiator out?
