Unhappy 94 jimmy tbi fuel issues

hey everyone, i have a 94 gmc jimmy 4x4 with the z in the vin. one day it just didnt start for my wife while i was at work. i got home and tried to start it as well and it turned over but acted like it wasnt getting spark or fuel. i did some tests on the truck and finally determined it was the fuel pump. i bought a used one from the junk yard, swaped them out and and truck fired up first try. i cruised around a little and no problems. my wife drove it to work the next day with no problems, and on her way home it kept acting like it wanted to die and she barely made it to park. i popped the hood when she got home and the engine bay was amazingly hot (but it was also 90 degrees outside) the temp guage never goes above 100 but that might be the thermostat. anyone have this same issue and got it resolved? also fuel filter was replaced within the last year. and im in the process of cleaning the injectors. any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the thermostat. if the gauge is showing 100 the sending unit is bad. its on the passenger side of the block. its not the one beside the thermostat housing. it for the coolant temp for the computer. the other is for the actual temp gauge. even if the stat was stuck open it would still move above the 100 mark. Personal experience myself.
