Default 94 With Starting and Running issues

OK, I'm new to the forum So if I make any mistakes I appologize. I could really use you all's help.

I have a 94' engine W with 175k. The last 2 months or so its been cranking along time before it fires. It fires better if you pump it a few times. The last week or so its been idleing rough and surges as you drive down the road. When you stop you can smell a burnt fuel smell.

Here is what I know:
-Fuel pump works, new about 40k ago.
-New fuel filter yesterday
-New EGR 15k ago. Cleaned it 2 weeks ago.
-Fuel Pressure checked yesterday. 60lbs while pump runs with key on. Slowly drops off after first 4 seconds. While running pressure stays around 55lbs.
-6 plugs have spark going to them.

If anyone else has had this problem please help!

Thanks.

Sounds like you have a leak in the fuel system. The most common place for the CPI engines is at the FPR which is inside the intake plenum. Have a look at the threads in the Tech Article (DIY) Summary link in my signature for more information.

Ok, I need some advice, I tore things down to the regulator, The entire intake had pools of gas in it, So I turned the key on to see where the leak is coming from. Turns out the supply line has a hole in it.
Obviously I need to replace the supply and return lines, but my question is... With 175k how long do I have until the whole spider goes bad? Is it worth the extra $320 to replace it now while everything is torn down? or do I just replace the lines and go on?

If its just the supply lines I would just replace them for now, unless you have $300 bucks to spend on a new Spyder right now.

I don't really WANT to spend 300 on the spider, but I also don't want to replace it in another 10k. How long do the regulator and spider typically last?
