ABS light on, how to fix? 1991 4x4
Hello, my ABS light is on (1991 s10 4x4 TBI, 4 door). I reset the ABS circuit/codes using a jumper wire, but it comes right back on as soon as it is powered up/started. Does this mean its the EBCM? Or is the BCM part of the engine ECM? Where do I go from here??
Thanks
Thanks
I bought a code checker for 29.99 and determined why my light was on. It was a faulty front wheel sensor. Usually there is a problem when that light stays on. While I still had normal brake operation I did not have 4WAL until I replaced the sensor. I suggest you figure out the problem - fix it - then reset the light to off.Or if you are happy with regular brakes just unplug the light.
I cannot remember where I purchased the code reader from but I simply did a google search and found one. They are complete with instructions and the list of problems for each code and are really easy to use. I thought it much better than connecting the terminals with jumper wires.
