bad news for new blazer owner
So the other day i was driving along and i noticed some white smoke coming out of my exhaust. It was like 20 degress outside and I couldn't tell if it was just cause it was cold or if it was actually smoking. I drove another few blocks and it was smoking so fricken bad I could barely see out of my vehicle. The smoke was coming out of my exhaust. I did some research and i think its a head gasket or intake manifold gasket both of which suck because this guy told me the motor only had like 2500 miles on it. Anyways my check engine light sometimes comes on also and I need to know how to check it. I know that I need to use a jumper wire or paperclip, but I don't know which slots to slide it into on the plug. Also I thought at one point i ran across a sticky or something that had a list of all the codes but I can't find it anymore. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks!
Ok I took out all my plugs and they look pretty good, kinda black and smell like gas but that's it. I also drained the oil and it looked almost new, no milky anything. And I checked the codes and the only one I get is an o2 sensor Which I kind of already knew about. Could it be a radiator? or is intake manifold gasket more likely?
You are somehow getting coolant out the tail pipe. You need to check your compression to determine if you have a bad intake manifold gasket or a failed head gasket.
And c0a8l0v6i8n9, while that is good information to have, you could have simply linked to the site that you got the information from. Linking to the data, or paraphrasing certain aspects while also linking to the complete work is much more preferred. When you get the aspects of copy write involved, not citing the source is copy write infringement.

So are those about the only two things that would cause the coolant to get into the exhaust?? I thought i read somewhere that a cracked head gasket would cause the coolant and the oil to mix making it milky.
A failed intake manifold can leak in 3 different areas (or all at once if really gone bad). #1 - outside, #2 - into the intake runner, #3 - into the lifter valley and subsequently the oil.
A failed head gasket can either leak coolant into the cylinder (most common) or leak coolant into the oil. A head gasket will fail at the compression ring around a cylinder. The location of the failure dictates where things go from there.

thanks for the information, looks like i will be doing a compression test tonight! Would a head gasket cause the truck to overheat? I didn't have any abnormal temps and I have mechanical gauges.

Im so sorry I thought I put that info at the bottom of the post. I just made it a direct link now.
ok I did the compression test and I came up with 110-112 on all cylinders. I changed the radiator cap, spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil and oil filter. My heater core seems to be bad because the carpet is wet up under the dash on the passenger side. I also refilled the radiator. I am going to fix the heater core tomorrow and replace the hoses and hose clamps because i have a small leak at the top hose from the radiator to the heater core. Is there anything else at this point besides the intake gasket that could have caused the smoke out??
