Body lift

Default Body lift

Hey ya'll I just got my 3 inch body lift in today went to start installing it and found that finding longer oil cooler lines is alot harder than I thought it would be.

I was wondering where I can find a set or how I can make my own set. Right now the oil lines are the only thing stopping me from getting this done.

Find a shop that makes hydraulic lines and they'll be able to make up your oil lines no problem.

mine were leaking like crazy. i ended up replacing them by cutting off the couplings with a dremel. then used rubber hose (proper grade for high heat fluid) and hose clamps. not glamour or style points, but they've been a perfect solution for my leaky issue. it's up to your standard of crafting and price point. but as the previous comment said, hydraulic shops can do them up for you too.

X2 on making your own. High pressure rubber hose, and use the original fittings. A hydraulic shop would be the best option, but I've had two hose clamps at each end on mine for just over a year, and so far (knock on wood) I haven't had a single drop leak out.

Ok so I have a shop that will make the new oil lines... but since it is an automatic trans (yukKKKK hate it wish it was a 5 speed) I was asked what I am gonna do about the trans lines??? I have tried to google the trans lines but have found nothing.... This is my first body lift... I have done plenty of suspension lifts but don't have the money for one on this rig yet.... anyways again any info would be great

also I would like to know how to find out which transfer case I have.

Chances are, you have a GU6 option transfer case. Look in the glove box. Should be a parts list inside with a bunch of parts numbers listed. If you see GU6 in there, you got your make and gear ratio (Rear end 3:42) As for the tranny lines and oil cooler lines, if it's an S10 Blazer we're talking about, I have a 3 in. body lift on mine. Never had to swap to longer lines. The only modifications I had to make to suit the lift were to the shift linkage. I had to extend the bar from the shifter to meet the linkage. I have had lifts on both 2dr and 4dr models Vortec and TBI. No difference.

Isn't GU6 just the code for the rear end ratio? The transfer case should be either a NP233 if you have three buttons on your 4x4 switch; if you have four buttons, I believe it's a NP236 case.

Buttons on switch? I only know of one button, and that would be the one to release the 4x4 shifter...? I did mention rear end.
