Brake bleeding issue. Please help
Hello again. I have an 89 s10 blazer 2wd and I just got done changing rear drum shoes and a wheel cylinder on driver's side. Went to bleed brakes and I can't get a wrench on bleeder screw, open or boxed end. The screw is recessed on backing plate and no room for wrench or socket. Is should I try proportioning valve bleed or tis there a trick to bleeding drums. Something else I have is the wheel cylinder is held in with a clip instead of bolt. Thank you
Can you add a picture?
When replacing cylinders bleeding at another point will not eliminate the air from the new cylinder and the line to it as far as it has leaked out. So, no it won't do the job bleeding at the proportioning valve.
Make sure the cylinder has been mounted the correct way, it is the correct side. Some manufacturers are left/right side, some have universal ones with the bleed at an angle so on one side it's pointing left forward and when you use the same cylinder on the other side it points right rearward.
