a/c belt shakes when turned on

a/c belt shakes when turned on
1985 S10 2.5L 4wd
when the a/c is switched on the a/c belt starts wobbling up and down like crazy and even came off while I was driving it. Would this be the pulley or the clutch? its tightened down good and doesn't move any when i checked it, and all the bolts seem solid. someone i know told me it could be the tensioner, but i don't see a tensioner, as the whole a/c unit moves to get the belt on and off. i searched around but couldn't find any answers on this exact problems, any advice or help is greatly appreciated!
