Default Drivers side floor board getting wet when it rains?

I know this subject has probably already been discussed on the forum but I have looked and cannot find anything on it. I have a 94 S10 Blazer 4X4 2 door, with the Vortec 4.3 and everytime it rains my drivers side floor board gets wet....not just a little but it eventually has a puddle of water sitting in it. I know there is water dripping from the e-brake peddal and it's probably coming down the "A" pillar. My question is, is this a common issue? And, where could the water be entering at? Any help would be appreciated guys and gals......Thank you EVERYONE!

Not sure, but I had some moisture behind the kick panel next to the e-brake and left foot area there. There is a cavity behind this area that you could be getting water in because of rust or maybe even the rubber surround that the wires that go from the door frame to the door are enclosed in.

My 92, with the original windshield, starting doing that a couple of years ago. It was the windshield sealer on the drivers side, it had gave us.

Being as my windshield had a big crack in it, I had the windshield and sealer replaced, cured the problem, no more wet floor board on drivers side.

I might add, if you take a close look at it, you may be able to tell where the water has been seeping in, I could with mine.

Thanks JustJerry.....It does seem to be leaking in around the top corner, drivers side of the windshield. the rubber sealer was pulled up a little and that looked to be the problem. It has been raining here for the past two days and the floor board is still wet but since I have pushed it back in place it hasn't seem to be getting any wetter. I am going to throw some clear silicone over it once it stops raining for a little while and hopefully it fixes the problem completely! Thanks again!

Default hood grill

There's a metal grill between the hood and the windshield (under the wipers arms). If you remove it, you'll find another plastic grill which you should remove too, then take a look and see if there's rust there. If that area gets dirty, it will hold moisture for a long time which causes rust. Anyway, if you don't see rusted areas there, you can do a test to see if that area is leaking water to the driver's side by pouring water there. Water should fall from the sides to the floor under the rear of fenders only (not even to the engine's area). If someone is helping you, let him do it, and go take a look at the driver's floor area under the dashboard. Rust could be on the side wall too. Do that 1st and then we'll see.

Look at the sealing surface that be under the edge of the windshield. Sometimes this sealing surface will break in places and it takes a very close look to find it. When mine 1st leaked I thought the place it could be was the windshield, finally on close inspection I discovered it.

Of course that might not be your trouble. The windshield shop said they hardly ever come across one that leaked in that manner, yet every now and again they would come up on one.

Of course you can run water, & or wait till it rains, them try to find the leak by sticking your hand up under the dash. I did this and found the water was coming from up high, and not from along the bottom of the windshield. That was when I started checking out the windshield closely and found the problem.

I had the same problem with my 2000 blazer LS and I think that I round out where it was leaking. It has been raining for the last 2 days and still no wet floor. If you have cruise control there is a plate that the cruise attaches too, I pulled off the cruise and the plate and put some silicone behind the plate where the screws go threw and put everything back together and no wet floor. So I hope this works for everyone that look at this reply

I have a 91 and a 94 S10 Blazer. My 94 had this same issue, and I was able to solve this problem.

The Water was coming in from the wiper cowl drain area. To the right and left side of the cowl area is downward drop in an enclosed area of the cab. The water dropping into this area enters the vehicle through an access panel hole in the kick panel on the drivers side. Earlier models had a black plate here, but in 94 they used material such as a plastic sheet or foil covering the hole, sealed with butyl (a rubbery sticky tar type of sealant). Anyway this is common place where the water is entering the cab. See my notes and how I repaired this problem <Click Here>
