Default EGR delete?

I have a 1993 GMC Jimmy with the 4.3 Vin W CPI engine. My problem is the EGR. If I delete the EGR, will I have a continuous check engine light? Is there a EGR block off plate available for it? The Cat is gone. Also, has anyone had problems with their distributor? I'm at 230K on the clock.

This is my first thread here.

We don't discuss removing emissions equipment on road-riven vehicles.

Thumbs up

I found a neat trick. use a spark plug boot (90) with the guts pulled out to replace the 90 degree rubber EVAP hose connection to the throttle body.

Default W engine problem

More problems with my Jimmy. It starts and runs well for about 10-15 minutes then shuts off. Just for grins, I replaced the spark plugs, no change. Checked the fuel pump pressure and got 53 psi. Could this problem be caused by the change over from open loop to closed loop?

I'm going to close this thread as you have opened a new one for this specific problem.
