EGR Valve
So, I probably should have done this when I had the upper intake plenum off to do the spider assembly. but.... I didnt.. for what ever reason. Is there a way to get the EGR valve off without removing the intake plenum?
its not that bad guys..
remove the rubber intake hose going to the throttle body for extra room, and dig in there with a short extention and get it out. I had my dads out to clean it and took me about 30 min to remove/clean/replace.

Take the air intake off and if you feel the need get the belt out of the way. I changed mine in about 15 minutes with just a screw driver and a 10mm on a swivel with a 4 inch extension. you will have to move it around like one of those chineese puzzles to get it out from it's spot though.
I've never had a problem taking the EGR off a first-gen Vortec intake. I take the air intake off the throttle body, use a 6" wobble extension and a deep 10mm socket for the right bolt and a 10mm ratcheting wrench for the left bolt. If you're careful and patient it can be done.
You are stuck having to remove your tbi body. it can be done without removing it but its a pain in the backside. Besides, tbi units like to clog up in the pvc port, cleaning it out is a big benefit,so if its not been removed in a long time do it. 2 birds 1 stone
Sadly i am not mechanically inclined enough to do this. Guess i will have to pay a shop. was hoping to find a way to not have to remove it.
