Finally!!!.... but what's this?

I've finally gotten her on the road. Needs a little work but you have to crawl before you walk. Can anyone tell me what's at the end of the turn signal switch? It's worn off so I have no clue. Other important issue is a high, I mean HIGH idle. I can cruise at 30 mph with no gas. From a cold start, it will flood if I hold it too long. At a stop light it's like stepping on the gas and brake simultaneously. It had a complete tune up less than 6 months ago.
I hope the picture loaded correctly.

Stalk also shares cruise control functions. Slide lever/switch is 'off' far left, middle is 'on' and the right which is spring controlled is resume or accelerate. The button on the very end of the stalk is to set the cruise speed when the lever/slide switch is in the middle, or 'on'.

Thanks. I'm kind of stuck on where to begin first. I've also noticed it's burning WAY too much fuel so I've got to get this taken care of as soon as possible. Any particular order and what I should check next if that's not the culprit? As I'm not sure what has or has not been done prior to me obtaining the vehicle, I'll probably replace these parts as I go over them. If there's a better suggestion part wise other than the standard factory replacement, I'd appreciate that too.

Search for a vacuum leak. As high as your idle is you may be able to hear it under the hood. Verify by using water in a plastic coke bottle with a hole in the cap. Dribble the water anywhere you suspect a vacuum leak, you will hear and maybe even see the water get sucked in. If you don't find it in suspect places, dribble the water all around any intake mating surfaces (including hoses going to your intake...for example, your brake booster hose). You can also use propane to see if there is a noticable increase in RPM as you spray it around your engine compartment, but the fan can sometimes throw that off enough you wouldn't notice without watching your O2 sensor readings at the same time. Plus it's not as safe.

I'll give that a shot rockp2, thanks. Although it will be a little difficult to hear seeing as how I need an exhaust system to boot. Trucks been on the road a whole 2 weeks now so I'm still kinda figuring my way around it. I was reading in another thread someone else had a high idle issue and it was suggested their ECT sensor could be the culprit. I've also noticed recently the temp gauge stays down around 100, doesn't budge. Today I drove it for a solid 4 hour trip and it NEVER budged. Hmmm..... now I wonder if it would overheat without me noticing.
On a side note, I think I'll pass on the propane, sometimes me and flames don't mix well...lol...
