Fuel pump replacement

Fuel pump replacement
I believe my fuel pump has been slowly going out. I have to give it a lot of gas to crank it over for the first time in the morning and sometimes when you turn corners it tries to die.
I believe the fuel pump on the 2.8L is located on the left hand side of the engine. Is it very hard to replace?
I also think my fuel pressure sending unit might be bad because when I get below half a tank my gas gauge goes crazy, also when I fill the car up my gas gauge goes quite a ways above full.

I am having the same fuel gauge issue, however I think (at least for now) that my fuel pump is fine.
My 97 has 94k miles so I am approaching the hard limit of the stock pump from what I have read so far here in the forums.
I would love to know what the issue with the gauge is however.

The 2.8 pump is kinda like any chevy small block. 2 bolts and a couple hoses going to it. Its easier to get it out from the bottom

Yeah, I replaced it Friday night was a piece of cake. Was done in less than a hour.
