Gas
Is there any do's or dont's with running a higher octane gas (93) in the 4.3 Iv heard mixed reviews and i just filled up w/ 93 and added injector cleaner and took her for a highway run and she ran like a million bucks. Any info appreciated. Thanx Adam

RE: Gas
Other than a lighter wallet, there are no advantages to running a higher octane fuel unless you are experiencing detonation. I highly doubt you are experiencing enough detonation to make 93 octane financially justifiable.
You really need to look at your $/mi efficiency with each grade fuel you have available. Run quite a few tanks of each with no other variables and keep track of the miles between fillups and the amount of fuel pumped in. Never top off the tank, just go until the pump clicks off.

In some cases your miles per gallon can get better with higher octane, nota super huge amount but you can stretch an extra amount outta higher octane. IMO I would just use 87 , and save a few bucks cause gas is on the way back up again. [sm=boohoo.gif]

Yea what the heck is with that. This time last year we were around 2.15 per gallon. It's going over 3.00 for regular around here. But i paid 2.74 in Springfield yesterday[sm=shades.gif]
