How do I establish what diff ratio is in the vehicle. and what ratios are avilable for this vehicle. Whats the visual difference between fully floating & otherwise? If its not fully floating, will one bolt up? Thanks, Mal

 

sometims you can look in your glove box or under the hood on the wheelwell to see if you can find your gear ratio on the option sheet. but if you bought the truck used no telling whats been done to it over the years, wouldnt be a bad idea to open up the diffcover, inspect and drain/replace the fluid then you can find out.

stock ratios ive seen are 2:73 3:08 3:43 and 3:73. not really sure if 4:11s came stock, i know they did on the k30s

the front axle is a full floater. the rear is probably a semi floater. a full floater will have the axle shaft basically stickint out about 3 inches past the drum and have 8 bolts in the center of the wheel. the semi floater will have 6 lugs and just look like a normal axle.... i know there are some SF 8 lugs too but im just talking the more common axles. best bed post a pic of what you got
