I got to looking around today and I found this.
http://www.amazon.com/Kensun-Xenon-C...=pd_sbs_auto_1

from the reviews I've seen for it people really like the kit.

would something like that work for the car and all I would have to buy would be the headlight housings right?

I've read it's illegal to install hid's in a non hid housing. Would something like this be what I would need?

1. HID's should be used in headlight assemblies made for them. This is your choice.
2. If you want bright lights stick with lights around 4300K this is the range with the most Lumens as output. The higher you go the less light output you have. That is why OEM HID's are 4300K.
3. I purchased the Hella's DOT Legal 200mm conversion and there are of the higest quality and my lights are very bright with the HB2 Bulbs that came with the headlights.
4. I would be very leary of the ebay headlights like the one your looking at. I probally would not like the ebay lights. They are about 1/3 of the cost of the Hella's but you still have to buy bulbs where the Hella's have bulbs included. In truth the Hella's are probally about double the cost when you take the bulbs into consideration. You may find the ebay headlights perfectly acceptible.
5. If you do run HID's in the non-hid headllights I would definately get a relay harness to protect you cars vehical wiring from the extra load of the HID's. As you can probally tell I am extremely happy with the Hella's in terms of price, quality, replacable bulb and the light output.

I would get the Hella lights to start with. Then if you still want brighter lights get the wire harness and an HID Kit. You might find that the lights with the HB2 or H4 Bulbs (DOT/ECode) are bright enough. I am perfectly satisfied with the Hella lights. (No HID). Then if you still want HID get a HB2/9003 HID Kit. If you want to keep you high/low beam get a dual bulb 9003 HID Kit. HID Extra has discounts for Bazer forums. See their link at the special buys section.

If you want the brightest light possible from a bulb (Non-HID) get the Hella E-Code headlights. The E-Code uses the H4 Bulb which has a higher wattage and still has the same connection for your wiring harness. The headlight will plug right into your existing location perfectly with no modifications. Below is the link. Search this forum as well as some others have installed the Hella E-Code. I went with the DOT version.

Ok, but if I decide to switch the Hella headlight housing would be able to handle the hid bulbs?

and I don't need any wiring harnesses or anything to hook up the Hella bulbs, I can just use my existing wiring?
and the 9003 is a H4 right?

The housings are the same material so either one would work just fine for HID conversion. In fact it is very hard to tell the two apart. The DOT version has a drain hole at the bottom of the lights that I pluged. The E-code lights do not have the drain hole and have a higher wattage bulb then the DOT version.

Yes, the bulbs from either headlight will plug into your harness. If you go the HID route at a later date I would then add the 9003 wiring harness to provide power directly to the headlight from the battery with switching controlled by the relays in the harness. The harness plugs into your existing wiring and the battery, and the harness then plugs into the bulbs. Do a search as I did a write up of my installation of the 9003 wiring harnes.

Ok, thanks for the information now to buy me some headlights.
Sorry if the questions seemed a little stupid I have never had to do anything like this other than changing bulbs out lol.

I was about to pull the trigger on a couple of these, they say for off road only.
Note: These headlamps are not certified as meeting any Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. They may not lawfully be sold for use as a headlamp on any motor vehicle. They may be sold for use on off-road vehicles which have not been certified to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
Are we disregarding that and using them as normal street headlights?
