Angry Help!!!!

I have a 1993 s-10 with a 4.3 w fuel pump quit, I checked the wires with a test light, had power so i assumed the pump failed dropped the tank, pulled the pump and when I checked it worked. Found that I had a bad relay, put everything back together, wouldnt run right, found that I pinched a fuel line under the tank, fixed that, put it back together would idle better but not accelerate, changed the filter thinking maybe I broke trash loose in the tank, still no go, found a loose ground still no good running terrible. Do you think trash made it to the spider? And the orings on fuel lines were pretty bad but it isnt leaking fuel? Spider is less than a year old.

What made you think it was the fuel pump in the first place? Also, how did you test to make sure it worked after the pump was out? Did you ever check the fuel pressure?

Also..
You changed a pump without looking in the tank? Or you reinstalled a tank knowing there was trash in it?

WTH is everyone so hesitant to change a fuel filter?

The fuel pump wasnt running when I turned the key on. Hooked up to the battery.

And the rest of the questions? Fuel pressure? Fuel filter? ETC?

Probably not. The most important thing now is what is your fuel pressure? Have you tested it?

Havent checked the pressure but did put diff fuel pump in and it ran allright for a couple miles and then started running horrible, maybe the filter got clogged again?

It's possible, and cheap enough to toss another one on there... but measure the pressure before doing anything else. Could be anything, but doing that test will tell you for sure if it's fuel related or something else. Your timing could be off, perhaps you're not getting correct spark, etc etc etc.

Rule out the fuel first by doing a pressure test. There is a procedure on here to test it on your truck, I believe.

Here is the link. Read through it, it mentions the first gen trucks too: https://blazerforum.com/forum/tech-a...agnosis-23038/

Dropped the tank and didn't replace the pump? Wow, a lot of work. It was probably about worn out anyway. Hind sight 20/20
