I am trying to figure out where this heat shield belongs. This is on my 89 S15 Jimmy 4.3L, 2WD, 2DR. It does seem to belong on the engine or transmission as I have mated them together and there is nothing that matches the shape of the shield.

 

Could it hang on the exhaust manifold bolts to protect hoses from the heat from an exhaust manifold?

 

The heat shields for the exhaust manifolds are in place. I think it might attach to the body on the passenger side. I took apart the car over a year ago and I finally getting things back together.
