I smell gas and I don't know why ???

Is the fuel smell you think coming from under the hood or near the gas tank the fuel sending units are known for leaking at the elbow on top of the gas tank do to age a drip hear and there underneath the tank youll diffenately smell that :-)

Ok chanses are you have a leak in the fuel line. That is why you smell gas outside the car. When you shut it off gravity takes control and the gas bleeds out of the lines (leak) that is why it takes 3-4 seconds of cranking for your TBI to get the gas back ino system. You should be ale to get a complete ake line kit from master clinder to all four wheels for around 100 bucks. Think I got one off ebay for like 40 plus shipping. Not hard to do well I guess that depends on how hands on the person is. hardest part is etting all the air out of the system. I usually break the damn bleeder valve.
