RE: Liftgate Key Cylinder/Lock
Advance Auto also sells the lock cylinder for the 1st gens. I got mine from the local junkyard, though I haven't gotten around to having it re-coded to my key yet.

Sorry, I should have known better then forget the year hahaha.....it's a '92. As for whether it's a lift gate or a drop gate with a lift window I'm not sure as I've never got it to open. But I'll assume you are correct since you all are the experts.

RE: Liftgate Key Cylinder/Lock
Quicksilver: i replaced my tailgate lock assembly cuz it was seized and the only place u can go to get it (atleast around here) is the dealer. it costs about $73 and u have to either have the dealer ship it out to a locksmith to code the lock for ur key for about $15 or u can try ur bet w/ going to the locksmith ur self.
to open the tailgate w/ out the lock u have to press on the lever thats to the leftside. replacing the lock is not that hard. if u have any questions lemme know cuz i did this recently to mine.
Peru Motors: if ur looking for a new tailgate check out craigslist.com thats how i found mine for $50 painted otherwise u can go to a local body shop and see if they can order one for u. for the shell it would prolly be around $100 unpainted. they can get it from aftermarket places other than GM.

RE: Liftgate Key Cylinder/Lock
Thanks for all the input guys - you'll have to forgive my noobishness this is the first Blazer (hell, first SUV/Truck for that matter) that I've ever owned so I'm still trying to track down places to get parts and such. This place has been an awesome find.
@94blueknight - I actually found the truck on craigslist....it needs a little work as there is some body rust, but runs great. As for hitting you up for install help - when I track one down I'm sure I'll be doing just that haha...

I replaced mine with one I purchased from a local dealerand had a local locksmith re-key it to be the same as my door key.
