Default Little Insight on my 4.3 vortec problem

OK well I have a 1992 S10 blazer 4x4. It has the 4.3 vortec which only has 30,000 and I've got my back against a wall. I was driving it one day and all of a sudden it started to bog and then it stalled out completely, I waited about 15 minutes while I called someone for a ride, went out and tried to start it again and it started and drove 2 miles to my house as if nothing happened. Then the next day I took it out to try and pick someone up drove less than a mile and it died out again, waited a good 3 hours and then started it and drove less than a mile to my house with it barely making it home. Now at my house it will not start at all.

I first changed the fuel pump, the sending unit (old was was real bad and since i had the tank down minds well have done it, fuel filter, distributor cap, the rotor, and a new ignition module. I changed all that and still nothing so I went into the plenum and took the injector out and bought one from a junk yard that came out of an olds bravada. Put that one in and still nothing. So a buddy of mine let me barrow a new PCM he had and i threw that in and still nothing.

The injector will not fire. The red/white wire going to it does have the right amount of voltage going to it while the key is on. I don't know if I can test the blue one. But I'm Stumped and need help.

And info or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You can test the injector wiring with a tool called a noid light. The injectors are fired when the ECU grounds the injector out. Check your grounds as a faulty ground could cause the symptoms you are experiencing.

Oh realy? Thanks, but with my spier injector there is a red/white wire that is pushing between 12-14v non-stop when the key is on and I am never able get anything from the the other one. The other wire is blue and that one goes to the PCM. Is that correct.

And also any grounds in particular?

thanks!

A 194 series light bulb will work as well instead of a noid light

Node Light=test light? then yes that is what I use. And a multimeter here and there

Could it be the distributor? Cause the one in there right now is pretty frail and the wiring is taped up.
Does the distributor take part in the timing of the pulse for the injector?

Did you check any of the grounds under the dash?

Have you tried checking the fuel pump relay?! It's underneath the hood, near the windshield on the driverside firewall. Hope that helps. There'll be two relays there. One of them is the fuel pump relay.

I know the relays are fine, the pumps primes and has plenty of pressure.

Define "plenty of pressure"... Hopefully you actually put a gauge on it.

There have been some members that have had problems with the wiring harness inside the plenum. You may want to replace this harness.
