no fire on 91 blazer
Possibly a worn gear on the distributor, loose dist hold-down, cap replaced in wrong position, wires ran wrong... thats about all that could happen.
But if it has severly advanced timing, it will belch through the throttle body. Retarted timing will make it backfire and/or stall. Keep us updated!

ok went through every thing once again on sunday.
Even threw the timming light on, just to find out, the spark I thought I had was insufficient.Dahhhh. So when I leave work today I will be replacing the coil. With my fingers crossed I will then turn the ignition key. And hope.
Will update after the key has been turned.

So the key was turned and once again I am without a running blazer.
Let me recap what I have done
1 started on the 22nd
2 did not start on the 23rd
3 checked fuel pressure and changed out cap and rotor on the 24th.
4 humbugggg on the 25th
5 replaced module on the 26th
6 rechecked everything I did on the 27th
7 tried to check timming but could not because of insufficent spark on the 28th
8 put on new ignition coil on the 29th.(by the way it tested faulty)
Guy at the part store said it could be the pick-up coil. Have to wait until tomorrow.Getting really cold.
Any one have any other ideas?

My jimmy just stopped firing all together on me once. I just ended up replacing the whole distributor as it was only slightly more than a new ICM. The pickup coil could be your problem.
OK
I took the distributor out . And I am ripping it apart to replace the pick-up coil. Everything is going fine . I checked the old one and its bad so I replaced it. T^he old pick up was completely fried and totally melted. So,Got the new one in, everything is starting to look good again. When I completely rebuilt the dist. I went to spin it and feel it out. Felt rough so I take a closer look. Son of a mother trucking itch. The magnets inside split where the factory rivits hold it in.
Looks like the magnet failed causing both coils to fail.
Anyone know if that mag is replaceable or am I going to the bone yard?
Oh yea. Still sitting like a rock outside far away from its garage. Its a sad blazer.

Going to the bone yard in the morning. Selling distrbutors for 50 bucks. Half of what they are new.
Is this a bad idea. I can rebuild with all the new parts I already have.
Or, should I just get the new. Warrantty and all.
