Definitely sounds like a fuse problem. I am not too sure where your fuse box is, but it'll mostlikely be under the dash and probably uses the glass tube type fuses. I also don't know if your blazer will have a fuse block cover, but if it does, take a look at the diagram on the cover to get an idea of what fuses cover the headlights and parking/tail lights. I am pretty sure that there will be more than one fuse that would control these functions.

If/When you find the fuses and replace ones that are blown... If they blow again, then you have a short somewhere in the wiring. If that's the case, then I would suggest you head to Sears or equivalent and pick up a cheap fault finder. It should make the job of finding the short much easier.

I'm having similar problems. I have an '87 S10 Blazer and don't have taillights, brake lights, hazard lights, or dash lights. I've found that the brake lights and hazards share a fuse, and the taillights and dash lights share a fuse. If I change the fuses, I can get about a minute down the road before they blow again, so I'm pretty sure that I have a short somewhere.

I picked up a test light and a multimeter at work and have been working on finding the short.

I would take a look at the fuses, but it's also possible you have a bad headlight switch.

Make sure all your lights are grounded.

Have you tried a new light switch yet?
