Default overheating

I recently found out my cat converter was busted up, I'm going to remove today. MY question is will it cause my engine to overheat due to the parts inside blocking the air flow. I looked underneth the truck and seen where the two manfolds comming off my engine meet and seen it smoking or steaming.

You've got a lot of exhaust gas and heat building up in that plugged-up cat.
