You missed my point. I was not talking about removing the sensor to check the sensor, but to remove the sensor to see if the "vent" caused by the removed sensor improves engine performance. If it does, then the catalytic converter is plugged. That is an easy process to check the cat, although a loud one.
If you go to an exhaust shop, they can run a back pressure test by removing the pre-cat O2 sensor (in the case of a single O2 sensor system, the only O2 sensor) and installing a high temperature pressure sensor which can diagnose restricted exhaust systems.

Your statment was perfectly clear.
I was replying to Shawn11501 when he wrote "never heard of puilling the O2 sensor to check it." The O2 sensor is not the problem butit could be a restrictedcatalytic convert that is causing the O2 sensor to send incorrectdata to the ECM.
