problems with new blazer
#1
after a long haiatis i have to check back in to ask what the heck is wrong with my new blazer
problem: will crank, but will not run for any amount of time unless i saw on the throttle to keep it running...
my guess is the TPS,....no vac leaks that we could see or hear
**EDIT**
new blazer is a 1991 with the 4.3 TBI 4x4 if that helps...

Id start with a fuel pressure diagnosis
Have you tested the fuel pressure by the fuel filter ?
the pressure should be no lower then 9 psi when the key is turned to on position
a bad tps would trigger a code do you have your ses light on?

1st gen TBI blazers do not have a fuel pressure test port. I have a TBI fuel pressure test kit the I purchased that I would splice into the fuel line. I would tie in at the front frame where the fuel lines go through the front crossmember. Autozone might have a kit as part of their loan a tool program.

Ditto. And the gauge for your fuel spikes to full when the ground is rotted off. So have a look on top of your gastank for the loose wire and reground that beeoch so you can see how much juice you got.
