i recently did the seafoam treatment through my 86 Blazer with the 2.8L V6 and ever since then when its being started up cold it seems like it wants to just die out or it will idle unusually low. but once it has warmed up it is fine. tomorrow since im of i was going to go through and check all the vaccum lines and connections to see if theres something there. if anyone has any ideas it would be much apprecited.

I would have a good look at the throttle body base gaskets.
You may also want to follow up your seafoam treatment with at complete throttle body cleaning. If the IAC valve has been stuck in a near closed position, it would not be doing its job. The seafoam could have cleaned the throttle plates to a point where they are closing more than before.
Give that a whirl and let us know!

i had just recently replaced the IAC with one from CarQuest (i dunno if thats a good thing or a bad thing) not even too weeks ago. i will also check the base gasket too. now when your talking about a complete throttle body cleaning would that require me to pull the throttle body off the motor to clean it out?

I always completely remove the throttle body as I find it easier to make sure that it is clean.

do you think it could be the egr valve hanging up? when going through the vacuum lines i pressed down the diaphragm and moved it around alittle and it didnt act up when i started it up for the first time today.

It is always a possibility. You have to be careful when cleaning the older diaphragm type EGR valves.

I took apart everything today and cleaned everything out and replaced all gaskets and i think the fuel pressure regulator? and assembled it back together and runs fine. i will post up pictures later of this.
