Resetting the Proportioning valve on a 1991
Hey all,
Im new to blazerforum.com so please be gentle. Not a complete car idiot so please speak normally to me as i can understand.
with that said here are the symptoms.
1. front brakes are bleeding fine and working fine. rear brakes (drums) are not working.
2. opened the rear bleeders and no fluid. left it over night to gravity bleed it and noticed some fluid had come out.
3. tried pumping the brakes to see if fluid would flow freely but no luck.
4. Brake light was on so i unplugged the sensor from the proportioning valve to make sure it was the cause, and after unplugging, brake light went off
Please understand that upon seeing the flow of fluid to the rears was almost non-existent, all indications was that the proportioning valve was cutting fluid to the rears so that was always in the back of my mind... went to make sure no air was in the lines.
so my next step is to reset the proportioning valve because im 90% certain that it is the cause of the non-operational rear brakes
Hope that made sense.
These forums are always a wealth of information, so i welcome any comments, suggestions, questions. but an answer would be most helpful.
thanks again.
