No, I am talking about the fan speed controller switch; the one that is directly above the heat controls on the dash.
If that is the problem, when you buy the replacement switch it comes with a replacement pigtail for the wires that clip on. Usually what happens is the switch develops a high resistance, the switch melts, and so does the insulation on the wires leading to it.
