right on thx a ton..

my blazer is just getting terrible fuel milage, a full tank will get me 350km which shouldnt happen.

i think its my timing but not 100% sure tho.

i get a check engine light for about 20 seconds after its been drivin for an hour or 2 but then will go off, i tried with a code reader and it doesnt pick up anything, i have no idea why im gettin such bad milage. i tried 02 sensor and still got terrible milage, could i possibly be the MAP sensor, or EGR valve??

its really slugish to once the vehicle is warm thats why i think it might have sumthing to do with the emission system on this beast..

I only get about 18 or so in mine.

im going threw the same deal with my 88 2.8L the fuel is crazy i get 400km to a tank i never thought about the timing though my EGR is new ive also put a new fuel pump in.. im planning on changing spark plug wires, cap and rottor, fuel filter.. and see where that gets me ill be happy with 500km per tank.. if you figure it out let me no what you did because mine blazer even has the same symptoms as yours..

Well I hate to say it but if you are replacing the EGR and using some parts store brand (not AC DELCO) they are known for not operating 100% correctly. They work well enough to not throw a code but stay cracked just enough to still allow exhaust gases into the combustion process.

I'm glad I aint got emissions testing here. I'm just gonna delete the egr and AIR pump from my ECM.

Also i still have to replace the inner tie rod and idle arm i believe its creating alot of drag on the truck has any one done that and seen an increase in fuel mileage ?

Unless its just so bad its not road worthy I doubt you see much of a change. Make sure you have it aligned after.

yah i only get 100km for 20$$ like 300km to 350km is just terrible its really bad i need to figure sumthing out

i still havent figured this problem out yet. tried timing it but i did it wrong, i forgot to pull the plug from the bottom of the distributer so it wont advance timing when i check it...im pretty sure its that plug to stop the EST from kickin in...
EGR valve when they dont work will it throw a code for only a few seconds once the vehicle is warm.. it only seems to flick on when im going around 70-75kmh then will go out? this is weird to me, it seems pretty hesitant once warm to... it must be a EGR valve, or timing, or map sensor i think
