Truck completely died, won't crank. Very odd.
Hi, last night I was sitting in my 1989 s15 jimmy (4.3 V6), idling, with my snow way plow on it. I was waiting to pick someone up in front of a driveway for about 10 mins and i put the truck in reverse and it completely died. It wouldnt crank over, tried putting it in different gears and played with the steering column with no luck. The headlights were still on and when i hit the brake, the interior lights go on. Vey strange. I tried to jump the truck with a booster pack with no luck. Battery is new and is good. I have no idea what is wrong with it and need any advice that you have, thankyou.

Sounds like a shorted wire someplace. You may want to track down the brake and dome light diagram and follow the wires to see if they have been mashed or melted together. This may have blown a fuse that is not allowing the truck to turn over and start. I have seen exhaust melt wires together that can weird issues. Also, being in a snow prone area, I would check the grounds and make sure they are good, road salt can play hell with electrical systems.
