Default what size torx for shield under motor?

I don't want to buy an entire torx set and just need the one for now to remove the shield under the motor. Does anyone happen to know what size torx those bolts are?

the bolts are the Torx style theprodigy001, not a regular hex head bolt.

the one's on my truck are T30. have you priced out a whole set yet? they're not that much. i have the set from NAPA (goes from T10 upto T60 in 1/4, 3/8, & 1/2 drive), which wasn't too bad, bu i know that Canadian Tire up here sells similar set for under $30. doesn't include all the sizes in mine, but will give you the more common ones.

for you guys in the U.S., i guess it'd be O'Riley's or.........what the hell is the name of that other big chain down there? brain fart, can't think of it right now. but look around anyways, you're bound to find a parts store/supplier that'll have a set on sale.

question rastoma, if you don't mind me asking....why do you need to remove the shield anyways?

Yeah, I was going to post a reply later... I found a setat O'Riley's for $13, they $5 each so I guess I'll get the whole set. I don't remember the range, but I know it has at least what I need, probably the T30 as you mentioned.

As far as removing it... I'm still trying to find out why my 4wd doesn't work. I still can't get lights on the 4wd switch (and I have ensured that the 4wd is not engaging). I am getting power to everything that I can think of that is in the entire 4wd system... it's not a vacuum issue (it's good too though). I have use a multi-meter on the switch to check continuity and when pressing 4hi and 4lo the switch does seem to complete a circuit. I'm hoping somehow this switch tells the TCCM that it can switch to 4hi or not?

The only item I haven't checked is the 4wd light switch (that's what Rockauto calls it) that's on the front axle. My big arm can just barely touch it and can't remove the plug to check for corrosion or power so I need to remove the shield to get access to that.
