Default what year motors will fit in my truck?

I'm having nothing but problems with my motor after having a crank kit put in, it burns oil like crazy and seems to be having more and more problems. So ive decided that instead of buying a lift kit with my tax return "what my plan was" and buy a motor and rebuild it, i have a 94 s10 blazer with the 4.3 CPI "W" code also i would like to know what the best rebuild kit would be. Thanks in advanced

A 350... And an electric fan kit cause you prolly wont be able to fit the mechanical fan anymore. Take it out of a 1/2 ton of the same year, and the ECM too.

plus side for the 350s is there is alot of parts out there and the engines are cheap. a 4.3L will be double the price of a 350(5.7). i found one for 1800 in autorv (a 350). i'd do a 302 if i had the money.

well i really want to do a V8 swap, and if all i had to do was the motor i would do it in a heart beat, but there is tons of other stuff that go into it. I'm trying to find the best solution for the least amount of down time for my daily driver, that is why i figured another V6 would be the best option, if i built it in my basement and was able to just swap it in a weekend it would save me alot of down time. I have shopped around for alot about V8 conversion kits and i found a kit, just a kit mind you, was like 700 bucks. so i mean i dont know...

Summit Racing has plenty of rebuild kits for pretty decent prices and will come with everything you need. As for what year engine, try to find the same year as I'm not 100% sure on the differences between the years. If worse comes to worse, find another "W" code engine and use your intake and accessories.
