I've got a 96 S10 with factory buckets. New seats are on my list. Are you guys saying that a 98 and later seat won't ft a 96?

Makes sense.

Guessing the plug should match that I'll be plugging it into?

Power plug and the rear inner torx bolt will not line up.

Of course you could swap the seat brackets, and splice the wires for power if you really have a lot of time and patience...

Your male plugs should match and fit into each side's female plugs, yes.

I've always had great luck using a regular hammer on those torx head bolts. Before you even put a torx bit to them, smack them 3 or 4 good hard times right on the head with the hammer. Usually that'll break them loose and you can then turn them out with a short breaker bar or long ratchet with a torx bit socket on it. I've broken 2 Mac Tools torx bits by just going right to them first without trying to "shock" them... Then just smacked the head of the bolt with a hammer a couple times, and it turned right out like nothing with the 3rd torx bit... I've swapped the seats in my 04 about 4 times and have used the same process every time, both getting the seats out of the donor junk yard vehicle and out of my rust-belt acquired 04, hasn't failed me yet.

So tested both seats and neither the lumbar or heat seems to work.

Possible the plug could be different?
The seats have extra metal tabs compared to what I'm plugging into

Take some pics if you can. I have not put my seat in yet, so I can compare what you have going on to mine.

Did you still have your old seats?
Does that plug look different?

I'll check my seat plugs out tonight /tomorrow.
