350 motor swap

350 motor swap
Hi everyone. So I'm pretty sure I blew my 95's 6 cylinder. It smoked pretty bad after a slightly heavy acceleration today and is now knocking. I have a clean 350 small block that I been holding on to for a few years now that came out of a 79 Malibu. The 350 has a bunch of goodies already, mild cam, heads, Holley, etc...
I think my biggest question is the transmission... No way the blazer transmission will bolt to the 350...?? (I can't imagine it being that easy) Or will it...??
Thanks for any input. I appreciate it.

1995 should still have the V8 bolt pattern. You will have to do a bit of research. I know the ones up to 1994 pretty well.
The block should still be the same thou. Many good threads in this forum for the swap. When still considering the rebuild. Have a look at my build thread. My block and head is at the machine shop. Just now deciding about grinding the crank or getting a new one.
Should deliver some 200+ hp after the mild build. No hassle with electrics/electronics, retains all stock modules. 4L60E should be good up to some 275 hp.
Will be completely legal.
Will retain original driveability characteristics. The V8 adds some 50+ pounds to the front and moves the CG even further forward. Big issue at my place lots of curves. Could be an issue when trailer towing.
A lot more to think about when swapping a V8 into the S10.
Have fun.
