My a/c hasent been working for over a year now cause I never had the money to fix it. But today i did some research and i found out that the gear in the blend door actuator was cracked. So i tried to find a place to buy this gear and no auto parts store sell it. So my evil plan was buy a new actuator and just replaced the gear inside that I needed and return it with the bad gear inside (you have to undo 4 screws to look inside and and i know if i did this the employee would not unscrew it just to see if I had done that unless he was very smart). But anyways turns out that the actuator that they sell now has a different gear! So that plan did not work out to well so i figured I would just put the new actuator in to make sure the gear was the problem and it was. a/c blew freezing cold. BUT i took it out cause I refuse to pay 150$ when all I need is a 10 cent gear and mine will work just fine. So I plan on returning it tommorrow. There is no salvage yards anywhere near me and ive looked all over the internet to find this gear but I cannot find it. So my question is does anybody know where I can buy this gear? I thought about calling chevy dealership but there closed today they might have it but idk. Anyways any info on the whereabouts I can find this would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

 

What causes it to break is the blend door binding in the heater case, (gotta remove the entire dash to fix it). The gear has been upgraded so it doesn't break, (as often) that's why it's different. Dealer does not sell the gear separately.
