So strykerld what did you end up doing? I never had the oil issue but do have the passlock issue on my 05. Truck starts then dies. Tried the relearn (long and short versions), the resistor in the yellow/orange black passlock wires and just ordered a new ignition housing for about $100 CDN. The housing contains a new passlock sensor and from what I've gleaned over the past 2 years, this may be the fix. It will be a month until I can get it done but just curious how yours turned out.

 

I paid to have it fixed. The ENTIRE wiring for the passlock had to be replaced. I paid WAY TOO MUCH but I had to have it fixed. Local Chevy dealership said they would have done it for $250 less. Live and learn I guess. **** poor luck if you ask me. 2 days later I had to replace the ENTIRE distributor because the bolts broke for the cap. Now the crank position sensor went out of the NEW distributor!!!!!!
