Link no worky. What is it?

OK just watched it. That works, at least for awhile. The slide collar won't stand up to continuous use, I don't think, or at least hard wheeling. It's a dumb design from the factory, for sure. Best to just do the bravada shaft mod, and be done lol

i live in a poore area we cant spend money on things like that so we cum up with fixes on the cheep and ive had this blazer a year an its allwase worked for me

I feel ya, man! If it works for you, go for it! You can get the bravada shaft and tube in a junkyard for around fifty bucks, though. All you really need is the shaft, you can reuse your old tube, just have to make a block off plate for where the cable goes in.

I'm just a little biased against the stock axle disconnect. It's left me stuck without working 4wd in a couple of crappy situations. I had a homemade posi lock setup, and the slide collar wasn't engaging fully.

Lol I've been running mine like since I bought it 6 or 7 years ago. I only disconnect the front axle on longer road trips.

Man, y'all have better luck than me! I had to replace one of the gears, it was all chewed up from partial engagement, and wouldn't lock in. Then, it came unlocked on me when i actually kinda needed it. It felt engaged by hand, but under load it would slip and leave me in 2wd.

That's exactly what happened to my co-worker with his 01 Blazer 4 door.

He ended up replacing a bunch of s#it.

I do keep a pair of vice grips handy. Used to be for my seat recliner. :icon_dopey:

All you gotta do is swap the bravada shaft in, and never look back lol.

And with the cavalier seat swap, I was finally able to return the vise grip to my tool box!

Did you get pics of those seats in yet?

Come on, vice grips cost around the same as the new 4wd actuator. Getting the old one from wreckers should be dust cheap. Besides I wouldn't like a dangling vice grips nearby the battery pegs.
