Hey guys I just bought a used tranny, I have a 1997 4x4 chevy blazer LS automatic tranny, and the tranny I purchased is off of a 1998 Jimmy. It is a GM 4L60E transmission that I purchased, and the guy said it is the right one guaranteed....Did I purchase the right tranny???

99.9999999% sure you did. i dont think there was any changes in 97 and 98. install it with good fluid, add fluid to the torque convertor before you put that in,add a bottle of lucas trans fix,and have fun.

thanks man but why would i put a bottle of tranny fix in???? would it simply be a preventative measure?

yep. that stuff is great. I dont really like the whole fix in a bottle stuff. but ive put it in many transmissions and it always helps unless your trans is just burnt out.
Its a great $10 investment. its been known for good results.
for fluid, make sure you put in decent fluid like castrol etc.

Here's a tip. Be very careful with the filter port. Make sure o ring comes out, clean it and be careful not to push any crud up into the port .. use a good light and q tips if necessary.
