Default Passlock bypass troubles

Ok last couple weeks been having security issues and truck no start

so here is what i did.

bought resistor 2200 ohms

located the 3 wires coming from lock cylinder
1.yellow
2.orange black
3.red black

cut yellow wire installed resistor to bcm yellow wire
stripped orange/ black and soldered other end to this.[did not cut wire]

jimmy fires right up but i cant clear the security light

tried the turn key to run position for 10 minutes but light never turns off
when i did this i put truck in reverse and cranked all the way and then left it in run position.

I dont understand why the truck continues to start with a different resistor in place.

when i connect it back to stock configuration and restart the light goes out and works fine until the next time it feels like locking me out for 10 minutes

well after a ton of reading and searching the internet

I think my problem is the bcm is in a fault since i cut the yellow passlock wire with engine running . it beleives there is a problem in the system and continues to allow the vehicle to run no matter what.

I am going to reassamble to factory wiring and drive a few days in hopes it will clear this fault in the system and retry the bypass this weekend

making sure to cut the yellow wire with the vehicle off and keys not in lock assembly

well good news i had time to work on the passlock issue this evening.

I reconnected everthing to stock drove truck for a while .

turned truck off cut yellow wire installed 2.2 ohm resisitor between yellow and orange black wire and success flashing security light and no start .

waited the 10 minute period security light turned off tryed start no luck had to try the 30 minute method a success .

Truck starts with resistor in place no securty light and no longer have to worry about the system again.

saved me 100 bucks in new parts
