need to replace window release solenoid on my 95 (split gate)...do i have to drive out ALL the rivets on the inner (metal) panel to access the dang thing? can't see any other way.. thanks for help/advice..

 

if anybody else confronts this....the latch mechanism comes out (three bolts) with a little twisting,turning, cussing, and skinning. (be sure to disconnect neg cable...the inside of the key plate will ground out). i left the frame for the solenoid attached to the gate, and just undid the two screws that protrude thru the sheet metal. with some long-nosed needle-nose, i got the old solenoid unplugged and out. (the plastic actuator was broken at solenoid end) hardest part was getting the new little cam tab aligned with the slot in the lever, but then was able to line up screw holes...and, VOILA! no rivets removed. took about an hour.
