Default transfer vacuum switch - Bad again?

How rapid does these switches go bad? I changed the vacuum switch just before winter arrived. When I replaced my heater core yesterday I found some fluid on my heater controll switch. I'm hoping that this is just some resedue from the last time I changed my transfer vacuum switch.

With the transfer vacuum switch only beeing 5-6 months old, is it likely that the switch is bad again?

It likely is just residue left in the vacuum system. I typically will flush all vacuum lines out with either Dawn & water or Simple Green & water until the mixture coming out the other end of the line is clean. Then blow through them with compressed air. A turkey baster comes in handy for this job, just don't use your wife's (or significant other's).

Thanks a lot There will be some delay due to easter before I receive my new vacuum actuator, so I hope to use this time to clean the vacuum lines. NO way I will put the dash back together just to tear it down again for a actuator change. So that would give me some to reach all the vacuum lines.
