Default Vacuum Hoses and Transfer Case Vacuum Switch

Hi All, I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer LT, V6, Push button 4WD

The 4WD quit working recently so I did some research on the forum. I ended up back at the transfer case thinking that my issue had something to do with vacuum lines and the Transfer case vacuum switch.

What I found were two vacuum lines disconnected and I was unable to find the vacuum switch. I have attached two pictures, one for each of the vacuum lines I found. The vacuum line with the end still attached I was able to track as far as the motor area by the tranny dipstick. The other line leads to a metal line above the tranny.

I am unsure as to what to do next, I can't find the vacuum switch on the transfer case or a third vacuum line that I think should be there based on my research. Any guidance, thoughts, questions, or suggestions would be appreciated.

How many buttons are on your 4WD switch? If you have three buttons then you have a transfer case with the vacuum switch on the case. If you have four buttons then you have a totally different transfer case that doesn't have the vacuum switch on the transfer case; it's on the firewall.

Thanks for responding Toby. There are 4 buttons: 2HI, 4HI, 4LO, and Auto 4WD.

Great! Since you have the four-button switch you have no transfer case switch. That means you only have the vacuum solenoid on the firewall. You'll never have to worry about ATF in your vacuum system.

Why does the second picture look like a vacuum switch?

I found it disconnected laying on top of the transfer case. I can't figure out where it should go or what it should plugged into.

I don't have any pictures of the top, I'm gonna pull the cross member today so I can drop it down to get a better view. I do believe it has been changed prior to me buying it.
