Default 01 Blazer Brake Problems

I changed the front calipers on my 01 Blazer. I bled the breaks as I normally do. Myfirst problem is that I can't get the pedal to stiffen up. Second is that when I tighten the bleeder screw, my helper tells me thath the pedal goes to the floor more easily than it did with the bleader open.

On another brake related note, are the rear calipers (4 wheel disk) floating calipers?
Thanks

Answer to question #2 is yes, they are floating.

For question #1... Easier to push the pedal to the floor with the bleeder closed..? Did you keep the MC topped up with fluid? Was there any possibility that air got into the MC? If so, this can be a major pain to get out!
