Default '01 Blazer no power no start

Hi, I have an '01 4.3L 6cyl. The other day my son was just driving to work and it completely shut down on him, no warning signs at all (dimming lights, etc.). Nothing comes when turning the key, no dash lights, no click, no nothing. The battery and alternator have been checked and all connections have been checked. The fuses all look fine (don't have extras of the big ones). I'm gonna replace the ignition switch today. Do you guys have any other ideas besides the computer chip? If that's the problem it will get junked, sadly.

What about headlights, door locks or anything that should work with key off?

Is there a reason why you suspect the ignition switch, you have had trouble with it in the past?

No, I get nothing, nothing at all. Had to cover truck with tarp because the windows were down when it happened. Ignition switch has been trying to get stuck for a few years now. I had a new key made when I bought it and it worked fine for a long time but lately it acted as the original did. It's not stuck now though. It moves freely in all positions as it should.

Replace the ignition fuse. It is one of the big ones so you can't see if it is out. It is what happened to mine and it did the same thing. Plus its only a few bucks to buy it so its a cheap start.

No chance to work on truck yesterday. But as someone pulled in the driveway yesterday afternoon they saw that the lights were on and the hazard lights were on! It started and ran fine, hasn't tried to cut off again yet. Now I know it's a short somewhere! Thank you for your ideas and help!
